I’m James, an independent web developer based in Greater Manchester. I work directly with business owners to make useful, straightforward websites.
Practical experience, from product work to running a business.
My work has spanned digital product delivery, business analysis and small business ownership. I’ve coordinated technical teams, managed product priorities and translated business needs into clear, practical work. I’ve also co-founded and grown an independent hospitality business, from a pop-up kitchen to a full-service restaurant.
Those roles taught me to look beyond the brief. In product work, I brought together customer needs, stakeholder input and technical constraints. Running a business meant balancing finances, staff, operations and marketing while building relationships with customers.
My experience also includes commercial data, pricing, reporting and process improvement, alongside digital marketing, SEO, social media, content, email and hands-on website development. I use that mix to build practical websites, communicate clearly and keep decisions grounded in what a business needs.
